What the taximeter charges

The taximeter adds a fixed starting fare and then counts kilometres or time.

How the taximeter counts

It counts kilometres when the car is moving and time when it is stopped or in a queue.

Outside the City of Vicenza the taximeter only counts kilometres, at €0.95 per km. According to the City's 2014 resolution you also pay for the taxi's empty return trip, at the same rate: ask the cooperative for a quote before you leave.

Surcharges

What is added to the taximeter

They appear on the taximeter display and the driver adds them at the end of the ride, telling you which ones apply.

Rides outside the municipality

Within the City of Vicenza the driver must accept the ride; for a destination outside the municipality the driver has to agree.
